Equity Trader

An equity trader is essentially a stock trader and is responsible for the buying and selling of company shares on the stock market on the behalf of a client.

The equity trader will establish a relationship with his or her client base and then suggest recommendations on which stocks they should purchase or sell.

The equity trader has to analyze current market trends and make decisions on both short and longterm data. They may also read charts or other graphics that detail a particular sector they are interested in, such as utilities or manufacturing.

Traders have to have excellent communication skills, since many traders make their living from commissions and the more clients they have the better their income.

They must also have strong analytical skills and be able to decipher large amounts of data before making trading decisions.
